{"id":560,"date":"2020-08-22T16:08:02","date_gmt":"2020-08-22T10:38:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/importexportlicence.com\/?p=560"},"modified":"2020-08-22T16:08:34","modified_gmt":"2020-08-22T10:38:34","slug":"merchandise-exports-from-india-scheme-meis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/importexportlicence.com\/index.php\/2020\/08\/22\/merchandise-exports-from-india-scheme-meis\/","title":{"rendered":"Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The objective of the Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) is to promote the manufacture and export of notified goods\/ products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Entitlement under MEIS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Exports of notified goods\/products with ITC[HS] code, to notified markets,  shall be rewarded under MEIS. The rate(s) of rewards on various notified products [ITC (HS) code wise] range from 2% to 5% and also depends on the location of exports. The basis of calculation of reward would be on realised FOB value of exports in free foreign exchange, or on FOB value of exports as given in the Shipping Bills in freely convertible foreign currencies, whichever is less, unless otherwise specified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Export of goods through courier or foreign post offices using e-Commerce<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Exports of goods through courier or foreign post office using e-commerce of FOB value up to Rs. 25000 per consignment shall be entitled to be rewarded under MEIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the value of exports using the e-commerce platform is more than Rs 25000 per consignment then MEIS reward would be limited to FOB value of Rs.25000 only. Such goods can be exported in manual mode through Foreign Post Offices at New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Export of such goods under Courier Regulations shall be allowed manually on a pilot basis through Airports at Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai as per appropriate amendments in regulations to be made by Department of Revenue. Department of Revenue shall fast track the implementation of EDI mode at courier terminals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Ineligible categories under MEIS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The following exports categories\/sectors shall be ineligible for Duty Credit Scrip entitlement under MEIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Supplies made from DTA units to SEZ units.<\/li><li>Export of imported goods covered under paragraph 2.46 of FTP.<\/li><li>Exports through trans-shipment, meaning thereby exports that are originating in the third country but trans-shipped through India.<\/li><li>Deemed Exports.<\/li><li>SEZ\/ EOU \/EHTP\/ BTP \/FTWZ products exported through DTA units.<\/li><li>Export products which are subject to Minimum export price or export duty.<\/li><li>Exports made by units in FTWZ.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The objective of the Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) is to promote the manufacture and export of notified goods\/ products.
